As the “Mother of Gardens”, China is a vast country with a solid grounding in horticulture and a rich gardening tradition. The International Horticultural Exhibition is a big event that embodies the harmony between man and nature. Ever since 1960, it has been increasingly served as an important platform where people around the world can celebrate nature, make cultural exchanges, promote cooperation, and look into the future. International Horticultural Exhibition, 2019 Beijing, China (hereinafter referred to as the Expo 2019) is an A1 category expo accredited by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) and recognized by the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE). It is hosted by The People’s Republic of China and organized by Beijing Municipal Government. Located in Yanqing District of Beijing, China, the Expo 2019 will be held from April to October of 2019. To be held in Beijing Forestry University on December 2, 2017, the forum is sponsored by The Bureau of Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition Coordination and Beijing Forestry University. With “Leading, Spreading, Integrating” as its theme, the forum will address the following main issues：
1.Man and nature: A community of life
2.A multi-dimensional interpretation of horticultural values
In conjunction with the Expo 2019, the forum invites the international landscape architects who designed the creative gardens for the exposition to discuss the theme “Leading, Spreading, Integrating” and its related issues with Chinese scholars. In the context of environmental crisis and ecological deterioration, we will interpret what a harmonious man-nature relationship and a community of life actually mean. We will also interpret horticultural values from various perspectives, discussing how to multi-dimensionally integrate horticultural industries and greatly promote green development. The purpose is to lead the development of the industry, spread green ideas, and shape new characteristics of our time.
